Our Founder’s Story
YouthCapital Internships was founded with a clear purpose — to change the way young adults discover their career paths. Our founder, based in the UK, spent decades leading marketing for a Fortune 500 company while working across the US, UK, Australia, Singapore, and Hong Kong. He managed large, diverse teams and worked with people from many different cultural backgrounds.
Through this experience, he noticed a troubling pattern: many professionals were locked into jobs they never truly chose. They had taken the first opportunity that came their way, without ever knowing whether they had the aptitude or interest for that work. The result was frustration, disengagement, and unfulfilled careers.
Determined not to build a business without purpose, he asked himself a deeper question: What if we could solve this problem at the root? His calling became clear — to help young adults gain early exposure to the real world, test their interests in practice, and develop tools for personality–career fit (just as startups work toward product–market fit).
Since its inception, the journey of YouthCapital has been immensely rewarding. Students have gained confidence, clarity, and valuable experience — while companies have welcomed the fresh perspectives our interns bring. Partner organizations have expressed satisfaction in supporting youth development through our programs and have shown interest in engaging with these motivated students again in the future.
For the founder, seeing YouthCapital’s vision come to life has been both personally satisfying and a testament to the impact purposeful initiatives can have on the next generation.
